A Season Of Spiritual Renewal

Passover is a celebration of deliverance, a celebration of hope a celebration of inheritance. The Scripture cannot be broken. The children of Israel, through their forefathers, even before they went into slavery, were promised a land of euphoria filled with milk and honey. However, they were not motivated, being subjugated until they celebrated the Passover. As soon as they celebrated the Passover according to the direction given to them, they became anxious to leave Egypt, and Yahweh decided to punish their task masters in order to set them free. ”You are to eat it quickly, for you are to be dressed for travel, with your stick in your hand. It is the Passover festival to honor me,” says Yahweh, (Exodus 12:11).

The children of Israel desired freedom and deliverance from the torture of their Egyptian task masters and had earnestly wished to inherit that which was promised to their forefathers by Yahweh.

It was as if their desires and hope were impossible. But, as soon as they celebrated the Passover on that 14th night of Abib (the first month of the year), every barrier around them were broken. On that night, the Most High (Yahweh) went through the land of Egypt killing every first born male, both man and animals, and punished the big and small gods of Egypt, (Exodus 12:13-14). One thing was sure that night; any Israelite who did not eat the Passover that night and had not the blood of the lamb on the door post were not freed from the land of Egypt. Also, any Egyptian who had passion for Israel and happened to be under the roof of an Israelite that celebrated the Passover, such Egyptian was not harmed by the Angel of Death. This is because the blood on the door post was a sign to mark the house in which the Passover was celebrated irrespective of the race of the people inside that house.

Passover is a qualification expected not only from Israel but from any individual or group who may want to be free from any kind of torture or subjugation of life, either of the idols that hold you captive or the enemy that sneers at you (Exodus 12:47-49)

PASSOVER: THE DECISIVE GROUND

Without celebrating the Passover, there is no readiness in obeying Yahweh’s Commandments. This is because, Passover is the celebrations that will make you understand the difference between Yahweh and whatever is called god. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt was to know the difference when all the big gods he respected in the land were silenced by Yahweh and as a result, caused affliction on him and the entire land of Egypt. Invariably, the children of Israel were able to recognize the difference between their Elohim and other gods when the powerful hand of Yahweh freed them from the power that had held them hostage.

When the Israelite were in Egypt they were obeying the laws of Pharaoh and his gods. But when they left Egypt, Yahweh reminded them through his servant Moses (Moshe) that they were no more in the land of Egypt under the laws of Pharaoh and his gods, rather they were going into a territory where Yahweh’s laws are to be maintained.” Remember this day, the day which you left Egypt, a place where you were slaves. This is the day Yahweh brought you out by His power. No leavened bread is to be eaten. You are leaving Egypt on this day in the first month, the month of Abib” (Exodus 13:3-4).

Meanwhile, any person or group that does not celebrate the Passover is not ready to leave Egypt. And any person or group who is still in Egypt cannot keep the laws of righteousness of Yahweh, but is still under the forceful command of Pharaoh and tortures of his god. It is not possible to keep the righteousness of the Most High in the land of Egypt (slavery), because their king does not know Yahweh and cannot command you thus.

AN ETERNAL COVERNANT

The children Israel knowing the significant and power of Yahweh’s Passover, when they were almost in the land of Canaan could not eat anything from the land until day celebrated the Passover to honour Yahweh (Joshua 5:10-12). Ezra and other who came back from exile celebrated the Passover the feast of unleavened bread in order to maintain their ground in the land (Ezra 6:19-22). Josiah the king of Judah in his own time celebrated a unique Passover and unleavened bread that helped him to repossess Jerusalem (2 King 23:21-23).

Yahshua and the Apostles were all faithful in celebrating the Passover and unleavened bread to show us that is it an Eternal Covenant, which anybody who has hope of the kingdom should observe, Luke 12:41-47, Luke 22:7,8, Mark  14:12, John 12:12,13. There is no position desired in the physical that should not first be achieved in the spiritual. You cannot inherit the kingdom if you don’t live the life here on earth.

With Passover, you repossess what was falsely taken away from you; freedom, awareness, integrity, wealth etc. the sequence of the Passover and Unleavened Bread is the sure way of entering the Promised Land. Nevertheless, you may repossess your loots by celebrating Passover. But without being careful in obeying the law which is righteousness, you definitely would not enter the land of promise. Just like some of the children of Israel who left Egypt together with others and who also witnesses the miracles of the wilderness died on the way without entering the land. But those who were faithful to the righteousness of Yahweh, though old, their strength renewed until they inherited the land.

LET US CELEBRATE THE FEAST

Do you want to inherit the kingdom? You ought to celebrate the Passover and live the life void of sin; leaven which is the righteousness of eternal life. “Let us celebrate the Passover, not with bread having the old yeast of sin and wickedness, but with bread that has no yeast the bread of purity and truth” (1 Corinthian 5:8)

YAHWEH’S STATEMENT OF DELIVERANCE & SALVATION

“I am Yahweh and I will bring you out from under the burden of the Egyptians and I will free you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments. And I will take you to me for a people and I will be to you an Elohim, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for an heritage” (Exodus 6:6-6)

This was the mission statement of Yahweh in his task of rescuing the children of Abraham after four hundred and thirty years of sojourn in Egypt (bondage). This is the reason for the PASSOVER. This statement of salvation is a living spirit and is true forever. It also applies in the later days as Yahweh gathers the remnant of His flock from all countries. Yahweh’s spirit of salvation is the same forever. See Jeremiah 23:7-8 and 1 Corinth. 10:1-4. In this statement, Yahweh gave notice of his readiness to unfold the fulfillment of his promises to Abraham in Geneses 12:2,3 and 15:13-14.

Surely, the objectives of Yahweh’s mission were achieved and much more. “And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, besides woman and children and a mixed multitude also went with them, and flocks and herds, even much cattle” (Exodus 12:37-38). Obviously, six hundred thousand Israelite men and a mixed multitude of people including Egyptians benefited from the PASSOVER. Certainly, the PASSOVER involved the children of Israel and Gentiles. It was not an accident. Indeed the Almighty was very much aware and intended it so. The PASSOVER ordinance was the first to introduce a provision for the foreigner. Exodus 12:48-49 reads, “And when a stranger shall sojourn with you and will keep the PASSOVER to Yahweh, let all his males be circumcised and then lat him come near and keep it, and he shall be as one born in the land. One law shall be to him that is home born and to the stranger that sojourns with you.” A greater stamp of authority was given to this provision for the stranger Numbers 15:15, 16 says; “For the Assembly there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger that sojourns with you, a statute forever through-out your generation; as you are, so shall the sojourner be before Yahweh. One law and one ordinance shall be for you and for the stranger that sojourns with you.”The sovereignty of Yahweh is so totally inclusive that He is unable to exclude anybody form his grace.

The PASSOVER ordinance is a landmark as it introduced and exposed the foreigner to the laws of the Elohim of Israel, and accorded him equal responsibilities in the laws as with the children of Israel. Yahweh seemed to have rearranged the world and started it afresh. The month of PASSOVER became the first month (ABIB) of the Holy Calendar of the Most High, and season of spiritual renewal or independence. PASSOVER became the first law in the process of reconciliation between man and his Creator and between the Jews and the Gentiles.

It is absolutely important to understand the significance of the PASSOVER as a picture and harbinger of the final salvation of mankind and the role of the Jews in this process. The key to understanding the framework for salvation and the role of the Jews in it is the promises of Elohim to Abraham in Genesis 12:2c, 3:

2c “And you will be a blessing

3 And I will bless them that bless you. And him that curses you will I curse.

And in you shall all the families of the earth be blessed.”

Meaning:
2c and you will be a standard by which blessing is invoked

3 And I will bless them according to how they measure up to you, and I will curse them according to how they do not measure up to you. And every family of the earth shall bless themselves by you according to how they measure. Here the Almighty indicates the rules by which He is to reconcile Himself to man and reconcile the instrument of reconciliation (the Jew) to the rest of humanity. In other words all humanity was assured of this blessing using Abraham (a Hebrew) as a standard. Yahweh gave Abraham this singular honour and favour ,”for I have known him to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Yahweh, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that Yahweh may bring upon Abraham, that which He has spoken of him,”(Genesis 18:19).  The blessings of Abraham to his children and to his household depended on

– Keeping of the ways of Yahweh

– Doing righteousness and justice

You cannot keep the way of Yahweh without keeping His Law. In Egypt, Yahweh commanded the PASSOVER FOREVER “And you shall celebrate this feast to Yahweh throughout your generation as an everlasting ordinance you shall celebrate it,”(Exodus 12:14). Yahweh commands you to celebrate the feast to Him not just for yourself. All who failed to keep the way of the Almighty in Egypt were punished with great judgments of Yahweh. So shall it be in the later days for those who will not measure up to Israel in keeping the ways of Yahweh, Joel 3:12, 13, 16, Rev. 14:19.

All who measured up to Israel in Egypt were blessed, Exodus 12: 37, 38. So shall it be in the later days for those who will measure up to Israel in keeping the way of Yahweh. As Yahweh is aroused from His holy habitation, Jerusalem, so shall the nations who keep his ways join themselves to Him as illustrated by Zechariah 8:23.

The proceedings at the PASSOVER demonstrated the inability of man (Jews and Gentiles alike) to save himself or more appropriately reconcile himself with his Creator. It required the strong arm of Yahweh to bring salvation to the Jews and Gentiles in Egypt and to the Jews and Gentiles in the later days, see Psalm 136:11,12 and Psalm 98:12.

Salvation comes from Yahweh but man has a role to play. Man must participate in the plan of salvation.

In Egypt, Yahweh commanded the ordinance of PASS OVER  for the deliverance of His children and man participated by obeying the Commandment of Elohim.- “And you shall take a bunch of hyssop and deep it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning” (Exodus 12:22).

The blood on the door was the saving grace and anybody (Jew or Gentile) found outside it’s enclosure at midnight on that fateful day was at the mercy of the angel of death. Centuries after, the angel of death is still hovering around seeking to destroy and kill. Therefore our merciful Elohim wants you reminded yearly of the ever present threat of the destroyer and that salvation is only through the strong arm of Yahweh. –“When your children shall say to you, what do you mean by this service, that you shall say, it is the sacrifice of Yahweh’s PASSOVER who passed over the house of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He destroyed the Egyptians and delivered our houses” (Exodus 12:26, 27).

Yahweh also wants you reminded yearly that observing the feast attracts reward in this world while the principal reward in the world to come is not diminished. Keeping the PASSOVER (ordinance of Yahweh) draws you nearer the spirit of salvation. Passover as with all other laws when observed will ultimately assure you spiritual freedom. You must achieve spiritual liberty by overcoming and letting the Angel of death pass over you. Yahshua, the Spirit of salvation set the example, overcame and urges you to do the same, (Rev. 3:2-1).

Yahshua overcame by fulfilling the Law and the prophets, (Mathew 5:17). Yahweh commanded, and His son, Yahshua observed and celebrated the feast of PASSOVER and other feasts, John 2:13-17, 6:1-13; Luke 4:16; Mathew 26:17-19.

In 1st Corinth. 5:7, 8 Shaul (Paul, the Apostle of the Gentile) urged the Assembly of Yahweh at Corinth to keep the PASSOVER with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Who then stopped the celebration of the Feasts and PASSOVER in the Christian faith? History explains:

“As the founding fathers of the faith passed away and the Assembly of Yahweh spread away from Jerusalem towards the West, there gradually developed rivalry between the various bishops, and doctrinal differences appeared. In the struggle for power, the bishops of Constantinople and Jerusalem lost out to the bishop of Rome whose proximity to the seat of power of the Roman Empire was a clear advantage. The pagan Emperor Constantine was converted to the faith in 310 C.E. and 325 C.E. in NICEA under the powerful influence of Emperor Constantine, the council of Bishops changed the times and the law of the Most High, thus:

Sabbath was changed from the 7th day (Saturday)  to the 1st day of the week, Sunday (Venerable day of sun worship). Easter, from Ishtar Babylonian goddess was to be celebrated instead of PASSOVER, on the 1st Sunday after the 14th of ABIB. The prophetic revelation of Daniel 7:25-26 was astonishingly played out to the letter at the Council of NICEA between 321 C.E. – and 325 C.E. (A time, and times and half a time-1 year, and 2 years and half a year=3 ½ years.) The Beast thought to change the times and the Law of the Most High”.

Now, you know the origin of the present deceit. I urge you not to be caught with the Beast because Yahweh will surely take away his dominion to consume and to destroy it to the end.

Listen to the voice of Yahweh as He laments in Isaiah 29:13 “These people claim to worship me, but their words are meaningless, and their hearts are somewhere else. Their religion is nothing but human rules and traditions which they have simply memorized””. Good News Bible

Why should you celebrate man- made feast and default in the feast of the Almighty despite all the advice, guidance and warnings from Yahweh? “Man that is in honour and understands not is like the beasts that perish,” (Psalm 49: 20 Holy Scripture Bethel). It is evident that PASSOVER was ordained for the Jew and Gentiles alike, the children of Abraham and the household of honour the Commandment of Yahweh and embellishes Yahweh’s Spirit of salvation in you.

In doing this, you not only celebrate the spirit of reconciliation between man and his Creator but also the spirit of reconciliation between the Jews and the Gentiles. That spirit is Yahshua, (1st Corinth 10:1-4).

At the last harvest, those who overcome the Beast will be found singing the song of Moses (the Law) the servant of Yahweh and the song of the Lamb (Yahshua). Learn to sing the song (the Law and Yahshua) and rehearse this song daily and yearly that you may finally be allowed to hold the harp of Yahweh.

(Rev. 115: 2-3). (MZ).
